Annual event offers tastes, sounds from around the world

Continuous live entertainment, gourmet food trucks and more can be enjoyed during the annual International Festival. The festival runs from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m., April 3 and 4, on the Central Mall near the Student Union on the main campus at Glendale Community College, 6000 W. Olive Ave.

Come explore the cultures of Africa, Mexico and Latin America, the Caribbean, Celtic people, Persia, Japan, the Middle East and Iberia. A special performance demonstrating Flamenco dance and music will take place at 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3. Admission and parking are free.

11:50 a.m. to 12:35 p.m. April 3: Kawambe-Omowale African Drum and Dance Theatre
12:45 to 1:30 p.m. April 3: Flamenco Dance by Linda Machado
10:00 to 10:45 a.m. April 4: Saman Mahmoudi performs on a “santoor”
10:55 to 11:40 a.m. April 4: Amanda Rose & students perform Belly Dancing
11:50 a.m. to 12:35 p.m. April 4: Mariachi music by Corazón de Phoenix
12:45 to 1:30 p.m. April 4: Ritmo Latino performs Latin American music and Salsa
