America Recycles Day logo

The GCC Green Efforts committee invites students, employees and the public to several November events.

Watch November’s Green Efforts movie, “On Thin Ice,” from the series “Frozen Planet,” 1 p.m., Tues., Nov. 13 in NU-104.

What ends up in the campus recycle bins? Find out at the Recycle Dive, 7–8 a.m., Wed., Nov. 14 on the central mall west of the library. Participants will receive gloves and masks, and are asked to sign in at 6:45 a.m.

Clean out those offices and closets and bring it all to America Recycles Day, 9 a.m.–1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15 on the Central Mall at GCC. Participate in a chalk art contest from 9–11 a.m., and join GCC President Irene Kovala as she re-signs the Climate Commitment poster. Green Efforts will announce the results from the previous day’s Recycle Dive.

Collection boxes will be available for the following items:

  • Batteries
  • Books
  • Cell phones
  • CDs / DVDs / jewel cases
  • Small electronics
  • Inkjet cartridges
  • Plastic bags
  • Rubber flip-flops
  • Writing Instruments

(no televisions or large appliances please)
