Theatre performance about breaking down barriers and living with disabilities inspires and encourages audiences of all ages
The Exceptional Students Club brings “Handicap This!,” a nationally-recognized, live stage show, to Glendale Community College, 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 10 in the Student Union.
The show offers a provocative look at friendship, breaking down barriers and living with physical disabilities. This true-life adventure uses music, humor and honesty to leave audiences with a new appreciation for the world of those who face physical challenges.
The show features Mike Berkson and Tim Wambach, who celebrate their friendship, reminisce about mutual life experiences and help audience members see disability in an entirely new light.
Handicap This! pushes the envelope, stirs the senses, challenges thinking and helps individuals gauge their own level of accessibility to differences among individuals.
“The show combats ignorance, teaches awareness and motivates by example, all while cruisin’ in a wheelchair,” said Mike Berkson.
The performance is suitable for all age groups and is open to public. There is no charge, and admittance is on a first-come, first-served basis.
