Gaucho FootballSpirit events are happening all week, as the campus revs up for the Homecoming football game, 7 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 3 at Matt O. Hanhila Field. The Gauchos, on a five-game winning streak, face the Scottsdale Artichokes and put their Western States Football League title hopes on the line.

Join the Associated Student Government (ASG) on the Central Mall for Homecoming giveaways and activities, 10 a.m., Wed., Oct. 31; 1 p.m and 5:30 p.m., Thurs., Nov. 1.

The Student Honors Organization hosts a Halloween costume party, 2 p.m.–4 p.m., Wed., Oct. 31. Canned food donations for charity will be collected.

ASG hosts a Homecoming barn dance and BBQ in the A parking lot at GCC North, 7:30–10:30 p.m., Fri., Nov. 2.

In other Gaucho athletic news this week, the men’s cross-country team competes Fri., Nov. 2 at the National Championships in Illinois.

Glendale Community College hosts the women’s volleyball Region I Division II Playoff tournament. The tournament kicks off 5 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 1 with the Gauchos taking the court at 7 p.m. Tournament play continues through Sat., Nov. 3 with the winners advancing to the National Championships in Ohio on Nov. 14.

Women’s basketball competes in a tournament in New Mexico, and men’s basketball visits California for tournament play.
